As I have witnessed, employee burnout has become a significant worry for many firms in today’s increasingly fast-paced work environment. Maintaining a happy and effective staff requires knowing how to avoid employee burnout. This article will discuss employee burnout, explain its symptoms, and offer practical advice on preventing it, especially in the wake of significant organizational changes.

Employee Burnout: What Is It?

Employee burnout is a condition of extreme physical, emotional, and mental tiredness brought on by ongoing, excessive stress at work. It frequently happens when workers feel emotionally spent, overworked, and unable to meet demands constantly. Business leaders must manage burnout, which can result in low output, high absenteeism, and a high turnover rate.

The World Health Organization lists three characteristics that define burnout:

Weariness or a sense of low energy.

A mental detachment from one’s work that has grown, or sentiments of pessimism or negativity about it.

A decline in professional effectiveness.
